About Miss Tschida

Janet Tschida is Director of the Maranatha Piano Prep School. She also teaches private and group piano lessons to students ages 5 and older. Miss Tschida’s educational goal is to actively involve her students in every class session. She attempts to make her classes stimulating and challenging, but also practical with hands-on learning opportunities. “Most importantly, I hope my students leave my classroom inspired to learn everything they can about the subject matter at hand,” she says. Miss Tschida belongs to the following professional organizations:

  • National Music Certificate Program, Member and Site Chairperson
  • National Guild of Piano Teachers, Member and Site Chairperson
  • National Federation of Music Clubs, Member and Adjudicator
  • Music Teachers National Association, Member and NCTM

What Miss Tschida loves about teaching at Maranatha

“I cannot think of a group of people with whom I would rather work than our faculty. Teaching is an incredible ministry opportunity, and I pray that God will help me have a long-lasting impact on my students.”


Miss Tschida participates in various outdoor activities such as rollerblading, biking, playing tennis, shooting hoops, and jetskiing. She enjoys trying adventurous activities such as bungee jumping and skydiving. Next on her list is tandem hang gliding. And, she loves to play the piano.


Miss Tschida attends Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown where she serves in Sunday school and in the music ministry. In addition, she serves as a substitute for area churches in their music and children’s ministries.
