About Mrs. Holley

Katharine Holley met her husband, Scott, while both were studying at the University of Mississippi. They married shortly after completing school, and they have four children: Mitchell, Tyler, Morgan, and Madison. When Mrs. Holley joined the faculty for the 2011 spring semester, she brought 16 years of nursing experience to Maranatha. Although she began her nursing career in maternity nursing and home health, Mrs. Holley has worked primarily as a surgical nurse. In 2010, Mrs. Holley worked at the University of Wisconsin Hospital as a Nursing Education Coordinator for Surgical Services.

What Mrs. Holley loves about teaching at Maranatha

“I really love the idea of preparing nurses on a global level. Many of our students will be serving on the mission field, and I am humbled by the thought that God could use me in some way to help with that effort. I also recognize the importance of preparing students to be competent, compassionate, Christ-centered nurses who will make a difference in the lives of all they come in contact with no matter where they practice. That’s exciting!”

Mrs. Holley and her husband serve at Lakewood Baptist Church, where Mrs. Holley shares her passion for drama through the church’s special programs.
