“Mr. Z,” as he is called by his students, has been at Maranatha since 1995. He started teaching in Maranatha’s Academy, began to teach some courses in the University, and then moved to teach full-time in the University to help the new Social Studies Education major get started. Since that time, he’s also been one of the advisors for Maranatha’s History and Social Studies Education majors.

Mr. Michael Zwolanek and his wife, Lyssa, have two children, Daniel and Natalie.  Mr. Zwolanek enjoys traveling with his family—especially to historic sites and museums. One of his favorite verses for the classroom is Philippians 1:6. He believes that “we all need to remember that God is continuing to work with us, through us. He also knows that flexibility is the teacher’s friend.” Mr. Zwolanek and his family attend Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, where they are active in many ministries.
