Dramatic Productions

The impact of stage

Drama offers a versatile way to communicate and connect with an audience. Rather than using drama to appeal to ungodly desires or serve as cheap entertainment, Maranatha offers dramatic productions as an avenue for analyzing literature, reinforcing biblical truth, and presenting a Christian worldview in thought-provoking ways. Students in this minor sharpen their skills in communication, problem solving, organization, group dynamics, performance, analysis, and artistic design.

The Dramatic Productions program is designed for students majoring in another field (e.g., Elementary Education or Church Ministries) who want to learn important skills for directing or assisting with dramatic productions in school, church, or beyond. The minor culminates with a public presentation of a student-directed senior recital program.

"Drama creates opportunities to interact and impact people for the glory of God. Being able to use this art form to reach out and create relationships that foster true changes in the hearts of people is far greater than simply a good finished product on stage."  - Bethany Woodfin (2012-2013 DP Minor)
