Maranatha’s U.S. Army ROTC cadets claimed first place in the Ranger Challenge for the third time in four years, once again beating teams from much larger colleges and universities during the five-man competition at Fort McCoy in October.
Charlie Company won three of the eight events (obstacle course, one-rope bridge, day land navigation) and finished among the top four in all but one of the other events (10K, night land navigation, physical fitness test, weapons challenge, maintenance challenge, medical challenge, assault challenge).
Northern Michigan was second overall, Michigan Tech third, and UW-Madison fourth.
Jared Domsic coached the cadets and Richard Warren was team captain. Other team members were Elijah Walters, Joel Auchtung, Evander King, and Oliver Klein. The Maranatha team trained for the event for more than a month.
Maranatha also won the Ranger Challenge in 2009 and 2010 and finished second in 2011.
