Benedictine Wins Two Against Crusaders

LISLE, Ill. — The Crusaders were defeated soundly on Friday evening at the hands of the Benedictine Eagles by scores of 8-0 and 14-0.

In game one, Maranatha’s lone hit came off the bat of sophomore first baseman Rachel Ryan (Nampa, Idaho).

Benedictine strong-armed their way a three-run and four-run first and third inning, while pounding out 11 hits.

Freshman Jana Dempsey (3-11) went four innings, allowing 11 hits and six earned runs.

The hitting continued in game two for the Eagles, who amassed 14 runs on 15 hits.

Ryan finished the game having pitched four innings, allowing 15 hits and nine earned runs.

Junior Sadie Joutras (Crest Hill, Ill.) and Dempsey each finished 1-2 from the plate.

The softball team moves on to face Aurora University on Saturday, April 21 at 12:00 p.m. in Aurora, Ill.
