WATERTOWN, WI – Sophomore shortstop Emily Boogher was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Co-Player of the Year, while making the All-Independents First Team, and teammates; Emily Thompson (outfield), Rosa Lewis (pitcher) and Amy Dineen (utility) received Second Team honors.
Boogher hit an Association-best .566, recording a home run with 17 runs batted in, and 16 runs scored in 21 games started at shortstop. The two-time AD3I Player of the Week ranked first with an impressive .811 slugging percentage, and .635 on base percentage.
Junior outfielder Emily Thompson achieved First Team honors, finishing with the third-best batting average on the team at .351 (10th, AD3I), while scoring 20 runs (5th, AD3I) off 20 hits. Thompson ranked third in the Association with 10 stolen bases in 11 attempts, and sixth with a .439 on base percentage.
Lewis, a senior out of Yates City, IL, served as Maranatha’s top two-way player and made the Second Team as a pitcher after recording the fourth-most wins in the AD3I (4) and struck out 27 batters, which ranked sixth in the Association. Lewis batted .360 (8th, AD3I) and had a .418 on base percentage and .480 slugging percentage.
Sophomore Amy Dineen also secured a spot on the Second Team as a utility infielder and started all 21 games played. Dineen posted a .890 fielding percentage and proved to be a reliable player, in her usual spot at third base. She finished the season with five RBi’s and 10 hits.
