An overview of the major legal, ethical, and policy issues currently facing mass media. Much of the course will focus on the legal cases that have established current media law. Students will analyze case studies and primary documents. Upon completion, students should be able to explain existing media law and policy, ethical and moral issues relevant to media conduct, and critique and analyze future laws and policies. (3 credit hours) Offered Spring semester of even-numbered years.
