GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It was only a matter of time before the Crusaders play would lead to more goals and a win. That win came Saturday. Ben Zakariasen and Taylor Pill delivered that win with a 6-0 onslaught against NCCAA opponent Kuyper College on Saturday.
Zakariasen scored 5:30 into the game but didn’t stop there with his second goal eight minutes later.
Pill scored 18:30 minutes into the game on a 35-yard rocket but lit the lamp again 39 seconds into the second half. Teammates Austin Radke and Brian Lundquist also joined the attack scoring at the 78th and 81st minute. Lundquist would score his off a penalty kick.
The Crusaders forced Kuyper’s keeper to make 26 saves throughout the game. Coach Pill had this to say, “We played a high up tempo game and some of the best soccer we have played all season. We look forward to starting our conference play against Benedictine.”
That match will be held at Benedictine at 7:00 p.m.
