WATERTOWN, WI – The Maranatha Baptist University softball team put forth its first recipient for Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week, Emily Boogher, who fininshed with a high hitting percentage, and was an offensive catalyst at the Crusaders’ season-opening tournament, hosted by North Central University.
Boogher batted .714 (10-14), and recorded a hit in each of the team’s five games last weekend. She notched a 1.071 slugging percentage, two doubles, a home run and four RBI’s.
Against Martin Luther, the sophomore out of York, PA, went 3-3, including both doubles and opens the season with a .833 on-base percentage.
In her freshman campaign, Boogher hit her first home run at the same tournament, and finished with a .253 batting average, and a team-leading, eight RBI’s.
