WATERTOWN, Wis. – Seniors Joel Borchardt (Watertown, Wis.), and Matthew McGivern (Milwaukee, Wis.) received Second Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC), along with All-Region and Honorable Mention in the NCCAAII Midwest Region for the 2012-13 season.
Borchardt was named to the Second Team in the NAC for the first time in his career and is the most recent Crusader to be named All-Conference since Josh Stein in 2010-11. The 6-6 senior capped his career with his best season to date, averaging 16.8 points per game (3rd, NAC) and 10.6 rebounds per game (1st, NAC).
He was also the top vote-getter in the NCCAAII Midwest Region, and was named to the All-Region First Team after leading his team to the Semifinals in the Region Tournament this past weekend.
Borchardt’s teammates, McGivern, and Matt Hunter (Pontiac, Ill.) were both named honorable mention in the Midwest Region. McGivern was also named Honorable Mention in the NAC after putting together his best season as well, leading the conference with 6.1 assists per game and averaging 9.8 points per game on 40% shooting.
Hunter, whose season was slowed by injury, finished strong with a 7.3 points per game average on the season off 40% field goal shooting and 43% from three-point range.
