LAKE ZURICH, IL – The men’s basketball team put up big numbers in a 71-59 win over Dayspring Bible, on Tuesday night, bulldozing the opponent with a 50-28 halftime lead, while cruising to their fourth win of the season.
Fresh off a 28-point performance on 70% shooting from three-point range, freshman point guard Brady Moses (Lodi, WI) was at it again, going off for 25 points on 7-12 (58%) shooting from the field. Moses posted two three’s this time, and also finished 5-5 from the free-throw line.
Maranatha also received productivity from the bench, which held a lopsided, 24-3 advantage, receiving contributions from players across the roster, including senior forward Kyle Kutz (Cambridge, WI), who put up eight points on 4-7 (57%) field goal shooting while grabbing a team high, 12 rebounds.
Maranatha’s second-leading scorers in the game were junior center Brett Cashner (Urbana, IL), and freshman guard David Wenthold (Geneseo, IL), both finishing with nine points apiece on 50% shooting.
Maranatha also won the rebound battle, totaling 46 to Dayspring’s 31, and shot 71% as a team from the free-throw line, and 47% from field goal range.
Moses has been hot from three-point range in the last three games, posting a 54% percentage, and Wenthold has also performed well, nailing three shots from beyond the arc, against Dayspring.
The Crusaders would love for nothing else, than to secure their fifth win, and second in the past four games, against archrival, Northland International University. The team travels to Dunbar, WI, this Thursday, to face the Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. Live streaming can be found on the men’s basketball schedule.
