MILWAUKEE, WI – The Maranatha Crusader cross country team resumed action against 28 other teams at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Invitational, held on Saturday afternoon.
The women’s team once again received strong performances from sophomore runner Margo Watson (Atlanta, GA), and Kimberly Richerson (Elmwood, IL), who had a 26:39.1, and 28:36.8 finish respectively, in the 6,000 meter race. Watson took 63rd place out of 271 runners while Richerson placed 125th.
The men’s and women’s team took 20th place overall, finishing ahead of five other schools, including Edgewood College (Madison, WI) and Dominican University.
On the men’s side, Michael Kluver came in 128th place with a time of 31:20.3 in the 8,000 meter race while Elijah Walters (Buck Creek, IN) and Robert Truax (Lexington, S.C.) followed suit with times of 31:51.2 and 31:59.6.
The Crusaders are back in action at the Bethel College Invitational on Friday, October 11 at 5:00 p.m. in South Bend, IN.
