AURORA, Ill. – Maranatha won its eight NAC game of the season with an 84-59 thrashing of the Aurora Spartans in a NAC Challenge game on Saturday afternoon.
The Crusader defense limited the Spartans to 34% from the field while out-rebounding their opponent 52-35.
Autumn Peotter (Waupaca, Wis.) led the offense by dishing out six assists to go along with her team-leading, 16 points.
One of those shots, a three-pointer, gave Maranatha a 30-17 in the first half. Peotter hit 2-3 from downtown in the opening period.
Maranatha never trailed in the game and built its biggest lead on a layup by junior guard Kristin Morrison (Jefferson, Wis.), for a 72-47 score in the second half.
The win brings the Crusaders to a 14-11 season record, with eight of those coming against NAC opponents.
Junior forward Adrianne Reynolds (Capac, Mich.) shot 6-11 from the field for 13 points and five rebounds.
Morrison finished with 13 points, four assists and six rebounds, while sophomore center Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
