WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Maranatha men’s soccer team finally reaped their reward for consistent play in the last few games by beating Beloit 2-1.

Freshman forward Taylor Pill (Watertown, Wis.) scored the first goal on a beautiful cross pass from sophomore forward Brian Lundquist (Reading, Mass.) at the 5th minute.

Freshman forward Austin Radke (South Bend, Ind.) notched the next goal through traffic after a corner kick to extend the lead to 2-0. After that they held them scoreless until Beloit scored from beyond the 18 yard line.

Coach Pill stated, “Both teams were experimenting with lineups, and Hunter Scott got to play his first game and performed well. The group plays with intensity and I liked our ability to find the right guy with the ball.”

The men’s team moves on to face Marian at home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
