BELOIT, Wis. – The Crusaders were primed to go Saturday at the Wisconsin Private College Championships in Beloit, Wisconsin, setting nine personal records.
The whole women’s team set personal records, with senior runner Lauren Stephens (Chicago, Ill.) leading the way with her new time of 25:02.80, good for 22nd place.
Freshman Kimberly Richerson (Elmwood, Ill.) was the second Maranatha runner to cross the finish line with her new best time of 27:10.81, and junior Rebecca Wenthold (Atkinson, Ill.) came in at a time of 28:55.31.
On the men’s side, senior runner William O’Malley finished in fifth place, setting a new personal record time of 26:52.36, while Mike Kluver (Sauk Centre, Minn.) finished in 48th place at a pace of 29:32.50.
Junior Jeremy McPhillips (Georgetown, Ill.) also set a personal best time of 30:16.96.
Maranatha finished in ninth place overall with a team score of 225.
The Crusaders race next on Saturday, October 27 at the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament at Concordia-Wisconsin in Mequon, Wis. at 11:00 a.m.
