Eagles Drop Crusaders


Benedictine defeated the Crusaders in three straight sets (25-20, 25-13, 25-19) on Saturday. Maranatha’s record now stands at 13-5 (4-4 NAC), while Benedictine boasts a 7-1 record in the NAC (14-9 overall) putting them at second in the conference behind Dominican.

Junior hitter Torey DeLozier tallied 12 kills and 5 block assists while sophomore hitter Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) had 8 kills and 1 block assist.

Junior libero Hallie Nelson (Rockford, Ill.) notched 12 digs on the defensive end and freshman setter Emily Thompson (Watertown, Wis.) had 9 assists.

Maranatha travels to Dubuque, Iowa on Monday to face non-conference opponent Emmaus Bible College at 7:00 p.m.
