Falcons Fly Against Crusaders

MEQUON, Wis. – The Crusaders were defeated by the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons, 71-55 on Thursday night in Mequon, Wis.

The Crusaders took an early 9-6 lead on a layup by forward Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.). The tide turned in favor of the Falcons, who shot 53.3 field-goal range, and a flawless 5-5 from beyond the arc to give them a 39-23 halftime lead.

Concordia built up a 30 point lead in the second half before the Crusaders cut it down to 15 on a jumper by sophomore center Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.). In the end, the Lady Crusaders could not overcome the Falcon’s.

Peterson finished the night 7-17 from the field for 18 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks in 36 minutes of action.

Junior guard Autumn Peotter (Waupaca, Wis.) totaled 11 points, seven rebounds with two steals.

Maranatha moves on to face Benedictine on Saturday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m.
