Maranatha Much Improved

MEQUON, Wis. – The men’s soccer team may have lost 2-0 to Concordia-Wisconsin on Tuesday night, but they showed flashes of improvement and earned the praise of their coach.

The Falcons are the #1 ranked team in the NAC right now with a 7-4 overall record and 3-0 record in the NAC. The Crusaders have now played two teams ranked in the top three of the NAC, losing most recently 7-0 to Dominican on Saturday.

Tuesday was a much different story as Coach Pill pointed out “We turned in a very good effort today losing 2-0 but battled strong against them. I was very encouraged by the defensive organization and commitment that kept us in the game and have a lot of praise for Concordia’s speed of play. It was a totally different game then this past Saturday against Dominican.”

Junior keeper Jon Gress (Pekin, Ill.) started the first game of his career and made 10 saves.

Maranatha faces Rockford on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. at home for parent’s day weekend.
