MEQUON, Wis. – The Crusaders’ William O’Malley ran his second-best race of the season, clocking in at 26:53.76 at the Cross Country Championships at CUW in Mequon, Wis.
O’Malley was named to the All-Northern Athletics Conference Team afterwards, posting the fifth-fastest time in the conference. Senior Lauren Stephens (Chicago, Ill.) was also named Honorable Mention in the conference, with her season-best time of 25:06.3.
O’Malley was a second off his previous personal record, 26:52.36, set on October 13 of this year. The senior runner couldn’t be peaking at a better time as the Crusaders prepare for the NCCAAII National Tournament held at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio on November 10 at 10:00 a.m. EST.
Sophomore runner Robert Truax (Lexington, S.C.) and senior Cari Cook (Napolean, Mich.) each posted personal record times of 32:02.17, and 28:39.21 respectively.
Stephens came in 18th place with a time of 25:06.31, and freshman Kimberly Richerson (Elmwood, Ill.) was the second woman Crusader to cross the finish line at 27:16.54 in 46th place.
In his first race this season, Caleb Dillman set a personal record of 31:18.61, and as a team, the men and the women took ninth place.
