WATERTOWN, WI – Maranatha’s Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, IL) was recently awarded by the NCAA Division III for her record of 4.6 blocks per game, during the 2012-13 basketball season.

Peterson, who finished the season with 138 blocks in 30 games played, also ranked second on the team in scoring (11.1 points per game) to help guide her team to a NCCAAII National Championship victory against #2 Manhattan Christian on March 9th, 2013.

Peterson was awarded a plaque by Athletic Director Rob Thompson, who stated, “We are thrilled to present this award to Laci Peterson. Laci worked hard and had great numbers in the 2012-13 campaign, evidenced by her team winning the NCCAA DII National Championship. We congratulate Laci and the Crusader team!

Director of Statistics, Jim Wright also commented, “Only a handful of student-athletes can say they were the best in their field and it is an honor for which you can be proud.”

Peterson will be a senior this year and was a crucial part of a Crusader team that advanced as far as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Semifinal round against #2 Concordia Wisconsin last season.
