WATERTOWN, Wis. – The volleyball team’s first home game of the season was a 3-0 win over Northland International on Saturday afternoon.
The Crusaders opened up a 14-2 lead in the first set, recording four service aces in a row at one point. The Pioneers inched their way to a 16-5 deficit before putting together a 9-5 run to end the first set at 25-10.
The team followed up its fast start in set one with a 10-4 lead with kills from hitters Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) and Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) cruising to a 25-15 win.
In set three, Peterson led the team with six kills and DeLozier put the exclamation point on the set, recording a kill for the 25-7 victory.
DeLozier finished with 16 kills, 10 digs and 3 blocks (two solo) while Peterson had 11 kills.
The Crusaders face Edgewood at home on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m.
