DUNBAR, Wis. – Records are meant to be broken, but usually not in the span of a season. Junior forward Karis Rogers (Willmar, Minn.) accomplished just that in breaking Elise Jones’ record for goals scored by a Maranatha women’s soccer player in a 4-2 win against rival Northland International.
Rogers finished the game against Northland with a hat trick and 45 career goals to break the 44 goal mark set by the Jones last year. Rogers began the season with 36 goals and reeled off two hat tricks in as many games to put her within three goals of breaking the record.
This marks her third game of the season with a hat trick and 9 goals scored to start the season on a tear.
More game details to come.
