WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Dominican Stars pounced on Maranatha with 11-1 and 14-3 victories on a chilly Friday evening.
Junior pitcher Derek Funkhouser (Paris, Ill.) held the Stars to a 3-0 lead, but Dominican posted three runs in the fourth and three more runs later to seal the game.

Funkhouser pitched seven innings, allowing nine hits and 11 runs while striking out three batters.
Junior outfielder Nathan Lyle (Oregon, Wis.) was perfect from the plate, going 2-2.
