Volleyball Sweeps Northland

DUNBAR, WI – The Maranatha Crusaders swept through the Northland Pioneers on Saturday, 25-16, 25-15 and 25-12 with a game-high of eight kills from junior Stacie Ross (Wyoming, MI).

The Crusaders, now 5-0, needed just 29 team kills to defeat Northland and did not need anyone to post double-digits in kills. Maranatha also received seven kills from sophomore hitter Kelli Fox (Matthews, N.C.), who had a 42% attack rate, and 16 assists from junior Emily Thompson (Watertown, WI).

On defense, Sam Swiatek (Walled Lake, MI) posted 11 digs while the team posted six block assists, three from senior middle blocker Lauren Schulz (Lake Mills, WI). The team also committed just seven errors, while disrupting Northland’s offensive flow, taking advantage of 24 Pioneer errors.

Maranatha looks forward to a matchup on Tuesday, September 10th at 6:00 p.m. against the Concordia University Falcons in Madison, WI at the Edgewood Triangular, followed by an 8:00 p.m. matchup against Edgewood.
