WATERTOWN, Wis.—The Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors scored 27 points in the first half, cruising to a 48-0 thumping of the Crusaders on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors scored on their first two possessions, and added a third at the end of the quarter, but scored just once in the second quarter.
Wisconsin Lutheran racked up 550 yards of offense, and intercepted freshman quarterback Brandon McCormick (Edwards, Ill.) three times as Maranatha finished with 57 yards of offense.
The Warriors controlled the ball at 35:06 to Maranatha’s 19:48, and compiled 345 yards passing.
On defense, linebackers Ethan Kennon (Raleigh, N.C.), and Ethan Lane (Atlanta, Ga.) finished with 12 and 11 tackles respectively. Lane also had a sack and one and a half tackles for loss.
The team travels to Lisle, Ill. on Saturday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. to play the Benedictine Eagles.
