Crusaders’ Season Ends In Loss To Pioneers

WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Maranatha Crusaders’ season ended at the hands of Northland International, 6-1, on Friday afternoon.

The Pioneers scored six minutes into the game, but Maranatha responded seven minutes later when junior midfielder Brian Lundquist (Reading, Mass.), managed to squeeze a cross pass to Timothy Rogers (Willmar, Minn.), who punched in the goal for a 1-1 tie.

Sophomore midfielder Taylor Pill (Watertown, Wis.), and Marvin Klaudt (Los Mochis, Mexico) each had opportunities following the goal, but Northland added two more goals before halftime.

The Pioneers went on to score four more times in the second half, posting 13 shots on net and finishing with 26 total (11 on net).

Junior goalkeeper Kyle Kutz (Cambridge, Wis.) finished the season with four saves, and five goals allowed in nearly 80 minutes.

The loss to Northland International concludes the 2012 season, as Northland will now face Moody Bible on Saturday, October 27 at 10:30 a.m.
