DeLozier Earns Prestigious NCCAA Award

Torey DeLozierWATERTOWN, Wis. – The NCCAAII recently honored Maranatha Student-Athlete, Torey DeLozier, as the Game Plan 4 Life Student-Athlete Character Award winner, given to one female and one male individual.

DeLozier, a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball was recognized on a combination of career achievements, and awards but focusing primarily on a display of the following characteristics:

LOVE: Demonstrating a caring and consistent love for others (1 Corinthians 13)
INTEGRITY: Living out ethical principles in a clear and consistent manner (Job 27:5)
FAITH: Acknowledging a life of faith and sharing that faith with others (Hebrews 11)
EXCELLENCE: Striving to do all things at the highest standardDeLozier-NCCAAII National Championship

The reigning NCCAAII, and AVCA Player of the Year holds numerous records, which include leading the NCAA DIII in kills per set in volleyball for three straight years, and breaking the Northern Athletic Conference (NAC) record for career kills (2,525).

The 5-10 athlete led the basketball team to an NCCAAII National Championship this season, the team’s first since 1990, and also an NCCAAII National Championship appearance for volleyball.

Individuals are selected by a committee comprised of the NCCAA President, 1st Vice President and Executive Director.

The award will be given at the NCCAA Annual Convention at member school, Northwestern College, in St. Paul, Minn. on May 30th-June 1st.
