Dominican overwhelms Crusaders

WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Lady Crusaders faced stiff competition in a 92-71 loss to a Dominican squad that came in with a 3-1 NAC record.

A layup by junior forward Torey DeLozier (Watertown, Wis.) cut Dominican’s lead to 17-14 after the Stars opened with a 12-2 lead.

Time and again, the Stars responded to Maranatha’s comeback attempts by shooting 61% from beyond the arc. 

Dominican’s Katie Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) and Kayla Blom (Circle Pines, Minn.) led a team effort that saw the Stars end the game with 16 three-pointers made.

The Crusaders had three players in double-digit scoring. Laci Peterson (Chillicothe, Ill.) had 18 points, Autumn Peotter (Waupaca, Wis.) notched 15 points while DeLozier finished with 16 points.
