MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin Falcons racked up 460 total yards of offense in a 55-6 defeat of Maranatha on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons’ Austin Damaschke (Bristol, Wis.) finished the day with 312 passing yards and four touchdowns, while the defense cause two Maranatha fumbles and an interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Maranatha’s defense held the Falcons to one touchdown in the first quarter, but Concordia started the second quarter with a four-yard touchdown rush and followed up on their next drive with a 36 yard touchdown pass.
The Falcons dominated the second half, at one point scoring on three straight possessions. Maranatha caught a break on the last drive of the game when freshman quarterback Brandon McCormick (Edwards, Ill.) connected with sophomore receiver Joe Manion (Watertown, Wis.) on an eight-yard touchdown pass.
McCormick finished with 176 yards and a touchdown while Manion finished with 102 yards receiving.
Senior fullback Ethan Lane (Atlanta, Ga.) finished with 79 yards rushing.
On defense, sophomore linebacker Ethan Kennon (Raleigh, N.C.) finished with 12 tackles, while Lane finished with nine.
The Crusaders host Lakeland on Saturday, October 13 at 1:00 p.m.
