Hide and Shriek
Join a cast “where country folk meet city folk” in the Ozark Mountains for Maranatha Baptist University’s spring 2015 production, Hide and Shriek. In an attempt to escape from a crazed Edwina Hyde, June Hungerford takes refuge with a hillbilly family, the Dimshrouds, whose personalities are as bright as their last name suggests. But June quickly falls prey to a nefarious plot cooked up by these backwoods financiers. Add to the mix June's sister, college students, a portrait painter, a rich widow, an angry attorney and a sheriff who can't keep track of his gun, and hayseed mayhem ensues. Written by Tim Kelly and directed by MBU Associate Professor Carol Senn Ruffin, Hide and Shriek presents audiences with a storyline that mixes comedy with revenge.
