Every October, Maranatha’s Music Department hosts a concerto contest for interested and qualifying student musicians. Concerto contestants prepare a memorized movement of a concerto from the Classical period (other selections must be approved by the Concerto Committee).
Maranatha’s music faculty are pleased to announce the following winners:
WINNER: Performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in Bb Major (Rondo), the 2013 Concerto Contest Winner is Trisha Herbert. Trisha will receive a $100 cash award and will perform her concerto with Maranatha’s Symphony Orchestra during the Spring Orchestra Concert.
RUNNER UP: Garrett Holmes won 2nd place with his performance of Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No.1 in G Major.
HONORABLE MENTION: Melody and Joseph Steinbart performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in Eb Major KV. 364 (III. Presto).
