Maranatha, DeLozier Honored At NCCAA Hall Of Fame Banquet

large_GP4L_onlyST. PAUL, MN – The NCCAA recently honored recipients of multiple awards, including two Maranatha awards, the Presidential Award for Excellence and Game Plan 4 LIFE Character Award at the Hall of Fame Banquet at Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN on Friday, May 31.

The Presidential Award is presented annually to the institution in each division that compiles the most points through National Championship placement.

Maranatha received third place with 26 points, behind Ohio Christian University (27), and 1st place winner, Clearwater Christian (30) after winning a National Championship for women’s basketball and reaching the title game in volleyball.

Senior Torey DeLozier (Watertown, WI), along with Austin Muchow, a senior cross country runner from North Central were also recognized at the banquet, after winning the Game Plan 4 LIFE Award in April.

The award is given to one male and female student-athlete as well as two athletic staff members that display the Christian character qualities of love, integrity, faith and excellence. xsmall_gp4l_studentathlete_award

DeLozier was described as a servant leader, encouraging player, volunteer and someone who wants to honor God by doing right in all aspects of her testimony.

“She is honest and trustworthy and gives her best effort in each endeavor,” commented Athletics Director Rob Thompson.

DeLozier, the NCCAA DII, and AVCA Player of the Year, led the NCAA DIII for three straight years in kills per set and was a constant fixture on the First Team All-American squad for the NCCAA DII.
