NCCAA Midwest Regional Tournaments

LOGO-HiRes-NCCAA-Logo-bigWATERTOWN, WI – The men’s and women’s basketball teams open up Midwest Region Tournament play this weekend, with competitions on Thursday, as the men travel to host school, Great Lakes (Lansing, MI), while the women’s team travels north, to Northland International (Dunbar, WI) for a chance at the Region crown.

Keith Salscheider, and the men’s team (11-14) secured the #2 seed in the tournament, and face Moody Bible Institute, in a rematch, on Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Maranatha pulled out a 69-65 win over Moody, last Friday, and will have to win again this Thursday to advance to Friday’s Regional Semifinal, against the winner of #3 Grace and #6 Lincoln.

Clayton Morrison, and the women’s team (8-14), snagged the #3 seed in the tournament, and take on #6 Kuyper, at 6:00 p.m.

If the women defeat Kuyper, they would face #2 Lincoln Christian, on Friday, at 6:00 p.m. The Red Lions hold a 1-0 season record against Maranatha, having defeated Morrison’s squad, 62-39, on December 6, in Lincoln, IL.
