North Central Posts Shutout Against Crusaders

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Crusaders were shutout 2-0, by North Central University in the second game of the NCCAAII National Tournament.

The game remained scoreless for over 30 minutes until North Central’s Christina Goodman gave her team a 1-0 lead at 34 minutes.

Maranatha held an 11-8 shots advantage in the game, but only three were on net as the team trailed 1-0 heading into the halftime break.

In the second half, defender Alysha Morris (Watertown, Wis.) had three shot shots on goal turned away by goalkeeper Noelle Stordock, but it was North Central that struck again 66 minutes for the second and final goal.

Senior midfielder Allison Steinhaus (Winston Salem, N.C.) finished with three shots, and freshman midfielder Harmony Lorch (Aurora, Colo.) notched two.

Freshman goalkeeper Michala Marino (Grand Blanc, Mich.) finished with three saves in 90 minutes.

Maranatha will face #4 Kentucky Christian for the 5th place game at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, while Baptist Bible will face Clearwater Christian in the championship match.
