ELMHURST, Ill. – Ricky Warren notched a win for the Crusaders, and new wrestler, Ben Roohr, was in action for the 125-weight class at the 2013 Al Hanke Invitational in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Warren defeated University of Chicago, Tim Salazar by a 7-3 decision in the 149-weight class, and later lost a close, 4-2 decision to Travis Fuller of Triton.
Warren’s brother, James, finished with a major decision loss in his first match against Matt Ostovich (MSOE), and had a 6-2 loss by decision to Frank Stepnowski (Alma).
In his first action of the season, Roohr, a freshman out of Hillsdale, Michigan, was pinned twice in the 125-weight class.
Junior wrestler Jesse Gjeffle (Ontario, Wis.) took Alma’s Jared Groeneveld to 3:33 before suffering a defeat, and recorded two points in a major decision loss to Erwin Delarosa of Harper.
Junior Oliver Klein (Alexandria, Va.) and freshman Zach Zimmerman (Owosso, Mich.), each had two losses in the 157 and 133-weight classes respectively.
