Watson, Wama Receive Student-Athlete, Player Of The Week Awards

Wira WamaWATERTOWN, WI – Freshman Wira Wama has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) men’s soccer Player of the Week, as well as the NCCAAII Student-Athlete of the Week while sophomore Margo Watson (Atlanta, GA) was recognized by the NCCAAII as the cross country Student-Athlete of the Week.

Watson, a sophomore, posted the 38th fastest time out of 167 female participants spanning the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the NJCAA and NAIA schools, at the College of Dupage Invitational this past Friday. Watson ran a 21:11.1 in the 5,000 meter race, placing 8th in the NCAA Division III.

Wama, a forward out of Papua New Guinea, led his team to wins over Wisconsin Lutheran (NACC) and NCCAAII Midwest Region opponent, Grace Bible College.

Against Wisconsin Lutheran, Wama gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead before sealing the 3-1 win with a chip shot past the goalkeeper.
