15th Annual Craft and Gift Fair

This Saturday, November 2, 2019, the Maranatha Baptist University gym will be packed full, but not with fans for a volleyball game as you might expect. Fans of the 15th annual Craft and Gift Fair will crowd the gym to peruse the homemade goods and gifts brought by a variety of vendors.

Each year, the MBU softball team hosts the Craft and Gift Fair to raise money for the softball program. The proceeds help the team cover expenses for overnight trips and athletic gear for the season.

The fair begins early in the morning, as softball players wake up early to help vendors unload cars full of merchandise and set up the various booths. Over 50 vendors come before sunrise to set up their stands to sell their merchandise. These vendors sell an assortment of items from Christmas decorations to jams and jellies, clothing, essential oils, and handmade gifts.

One vendor in particular sells homemade lip balm – a personal favorite of the MBU softball players. For the past few years, this vendor gifts the softball team a variety of flavored lip balms as a thank you for helping with set up.

During the day, shoppers come from Watertown and the surrounding areas to peruse the homemade goods. The fair is the perfect opportunity to find high quality, unique, and homemade items to start your Christmas shopping.

The Craft and Gift Fair continues to grow, and this year there are more vendors than ever. Come support the local community vendors and MBU softball team at the fair this Saturday, November 2, from 9 am until 3 pm.
