Sweatman Moves to Full-time Faculty
Dr. Zach Sweatman, Maranatha Baptist University’s Athletic Trainer and part-time faculty in the Department of Applied Science and School of Education, will be transitioning to a full-time faculty member in the Fall of 2022.
Sweatman received his Doctorate in Athletic Training (DAT) from Moravian University in early May 2022. He holds an MA in Bioethics and a BA in Athletic Training from Trinity International University. Sweatman is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach.
As the academic advisor for the Exercise Science degrees and Pre-Physical Therapy, Sweatman will have an active presence in the classroom while maintaining the role of Head Trainer in the Athletic Training office.
Dr. Lane Hansel, Chair of the Department of Applied Science, states, “Zach is a great addition to our department due to his knowledge in the field, collaborative mindset, and care for the students. He brings a high level of current practice into the classroom and thoroughly prepares students for graduate school or jobs within the field of physical therapy. We are excited for Zach and feel this will help position MBU and the Exercise Science major as a top choice for students.”
Miss Ann Bolton, Assistant Athletic Director, shares, “Zach has a real passion for his subject matter. He is always expanding his knowledge base and developing his skills as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach. As a former athlete as well as having years of practice as a Certified Athletic Trainer, he has a lot of experience under his belt that he brings to the classroom.”
Sweatman will be assuming his new responsibilities in the Fall of 2022.
