Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly. Exciting, right?

You may spend this special day with your significant other. You’ll exchange sugary sweets and pink cards and handmade gifts that all represent how much you love each other. Or you’ll hang out with your close friends as you play a board game or go out bowling.

But wait – what if you have no plans to look forward to? You’re stuck on a Friday night with nothing to do. Luckily, you do have somewhere to be: Artist Series.

Artist Series is an evening concert where you can enjoy beautiful music. In the past, audiences have enjoyed musical groups of all kinds from across the country.

This year’s Artist Series concert features the SMS Men’s Choir. Music selections will range from patriotic to barbershop to sacred, giving everyone something to hear and remember. And above all, the Gospel will be the highlight of the night.

The SMS Men’s Choir began singing together in 1989 when they recorded their first album, I Sing the Mighty Power of God. Started by the founder of Sacred Music Services, Tim Fisher, the group originally consisted of nine singers. Since then, the group has expanded to twelve singers and has recorded nine CDs, featuring both the choir and SMS Quartet singing a variety of gospel songs, spirituals, patriotic numbers, Christmas selections, and sacred anthems.

The members of the choir are all involved in full-time jobs, ranging from senior pastors, to music ministers, to teachers and businessmen; but once a year they gather together to sing concerts in varying locations The choir is known for its full and vibrant sound, and the impact of their ministry is worldwide.

You will not only enjoy the beauty of their singing, but you will be confronted with their desire to honor the Lord through their music and testimonies. Come and celebrate with us as we lift our voices in praise to God!

Artist Series will be at 7:00pm on February 14 in the main gym on Maranatha’s campus. Admission is free. See you there!
