Ruth Brown

Assistant Professor
College of Arts and Sciences
Department of Music

Mrs. Ruth Brown began teaching at Maranatha in the fall of 2003. She has given piano lessons and taught music classes since 1984. Several of her hymn arrangements have been published, and she has accompanied both her husband and others who have recorded professional CDs. In addition, she has conducted hymn playing seminars and piano workshops, played for TV and radio advertisements, taught in music camps, and served as a judge for the National Piano Guild.

“It is incredibly rewarding to invest in the next generation of teachers and musicians. As a music teacher, I love to see the change that takes place in pianists between the first and final lesson of each semester. I also love to share in their weekly prayer requests and watch God’s faithfulness through many different situations. I’m so thankful to work in a place where I can share what God is doing in my life. I’m thankful I can pray with my students. It would be hard to teach in an environment where I could not bring God into this complicated adventure called ‘Life’.” – Ruth Brown
