Angela Morris

Professor

Mrs. Angela Morris began her teaching career at Maranatha Baptist Academy prior to joining the university faculty.  Her exuberant teaching style and passion for her students are evident in her classroom. Mrs. Morris teaches a variety of courses in the Department of Humanities, including speech, English, and TESOL methods. In addition, she frequently directs MBU dramatic productions.

“From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My father was a doctor and my mother was a nurse, so they frequently encouraged me to enter the medical field. But, I have always had a strong desire to teach. I can remember way back in junior high and high school analyzing my teachers to determine what qualities made up good teachers!” – Angela Morris

Campus Involvement

Chair, Department of Humanities; Director of campus dramatic productions, most recently “Operation Auca,” a multimedia production for Fall Festival 2019; Small Group Leader; Leadership Council; 

 

Family

Angela and her husband, Dwayne (youth pastor and part-time faculty), have been married since 1989. They have three grown children (all Maranatha grads) and one granddaughter.

Other Activities and Interests

Being outdoors – kayaking, gardening, biking; spending time with her husband; sharing pictures of her granddaughter

 

Church Ministry

Angela teaches classes for the teen girls in the Wednesday night youth program at church, leads Bible studies, and sings in the choir and special music groups.
