When the account is paid in full, it is the responsibility of the student to request the transfer of funds to be stopped. For services performed as a student employee of Maranatha, the IRS provides an exemption from FICA taxes. If the student employee maintains a full tuition load (12 undergraduate hours or 8 graduate hours), the student's wages are exempt from FICA withholding for work performed during the semester in which the student employee is enrolled. If the student is expelled from the student body for infractions of the Student Life Journal, the student's employment will be terminated immediately. Routine background checks will be conducted for all student employees working with minors.
