Intramural competitions help inject enthusiasm into student life. Many student-led initiatives during the school year become competitions among societies.
One traditional aspect of student life is intramural sports. The five men’s and five women’s societies divide into teams for competition in men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s dodgeball, men’s and women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s flag football.
The women’s Powderpuff Football Tournament is a spring campus tradition. Teams battle for gridiron supremacy on the “quad” area between Old Main and the men’s residence halls as large crowds watch.
The intramural program changes a bit each year. Sports tournament proposals can be submitted to the Office of Student Activities for consideration.
