Maranatha Baptist University and Seminary are pleased to announce the addition of Mark Herbster to the Maranatha family beginning in the summer of 2018. Mark will serve as the new Dean of Maranatha Baptist Seminary and of the School of Bible and Church Ministries.
He will fill a unique role on campus, not only being a dean but also being heavily involved in student discipleship. As he maintains a speaking ministry in local churches, youth conferences and educator conventions, he will also be recruiting and promoting the University.
Mark and his wife Amy were married in 1997 and have served the Lord in full-time itinerant ministry for sixteen years. As the leader of the Herbster Evangelistic Team, Mark has preached in camps, churches, and conferences, and served alongside pastors in churches all over the world. He will bring both practical ministry experience and passionate spiritual fervor in his service to our students.
The Herbsters have four daughters: Megan, Madison, Morgan and Meredith who serve alongside their parents, ministering to local churches in music. Mark is an avid runner; Amy homeschools their four girls; and the family enjoys skiing together and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs!
Dr. Marriott is eager to have the Herbsters at MBU saying,
Mark has a heart for people and passion for the Word. This deeply resonated with our students when he preached our opening services this past semester. The whole family ministered together and when not preaching Mark was continually connecting with students. We couldn’t be more excited that God is leading the Herbster family here to become a part of what God is doing through Maranatha – “To the Praise of His Glory!”
Mark earned a B.A. in Bible from Bob Jones University and an M. Div. from Heart of America Theological Seminary. His Doctor of Ministry is near completion.
MBU is grateful for Dr. Larry Oats’ faithful service as dean of MBS and is looking forward to his continued ministry teaching both residentially and online.
