Maranatha Baptist Seminary Church Site Program

If you have ever been interested in training young men for ministry in your own church, this is your opportunity.

Maranatha is entering into partnerships with pastors and churches that desire to provide seminary degrees or individual seminary courses for their church staff, interns, or church members. Individuals in the local churches may take courses for credit or for personal enrichment. They may also receive either an MA degree or the MDiv degree without moving or traveling to Wisconsin. Maranatha provides all or most of the education for the program; some pastors may want to teach some of the courses, while others may choose to leave all the academics to Maranatha. The pastor will, however, be engaged in mentoring and disciplining the student(s) involved in the programs.

We are able to offer an MA degree in Bible, an MA degree in Inter-Cultural Studies, and the MDiv degree without students being on campus. We offer our classes in three formats that are suitable for these students. Students participating in the church site program are required to take courses in the virtual and online formats and are invited to join other students in the module classes on campus, if they so desire.

These are our traditional classes (the usual 16-week semester-based classes) offered on the internet via video-conferencing in real time. Students join the classroom and participate as if they were actually in the class. The student needs a web cam (most laptops and now even some desktops come with these built it, but they can also be purchased for $30-40) and headphones or a microphone/headphone combination (which helps eliminate feedback on our end). The student must be present for class during traditional class times (which may start as early as 7:15 am and end as late as 2:10 pm Central Time). Module classes may also be taken in the virtual format.

Online classes typically meet for eight weeks of web-based class work, with an additional four weeks to finish research and writing requirements. The student does not have to be online at specific times of the day; there are, however, weekly or bi-weekly requirements. We offer six online sessions each year, two in each semester and two in the summer

Module classes meet for only one week. The modules typically begin on Monday afternoon and conclude Friday afternoon; a few classes meet in the evenings. Faculty may place their own due dates for various projects or tests for the class, but all work is due no later than nine weeks after the last day of class. Most of the modules take place in May and June. These modules may be taken in person in Wisconsin, or students may join these as virtual classes.

There is no cost to the church and no additional cost to the student to enroll in any of these programs. Standard tuition and fees apply.
