Michael Zwolanek

Associate Professor
College of Arts and Sciences
Department of Humanities

“Dr. Z,” as he is called by his students, has been at Maranatha since 1995. He started teaching at Maranatha Baptist Academy, began teaching a few courses for the University, then transitioned to full-time University Faculty. He loves teaching in the Department of Humanities and says, “teaching humanities in the right way requires a framework of God’s truth and teaching in a Christian environment makes that possible.” Dr. Z’s love of history and art is quickly obvious to every student in his classroom as he teaches in a way that brings history to life.

When asked why he teaches at MBU, Dr. Z responded, “Foremost, because I believe God called me to it, but apart from that, I love my field of study and really love the opportunity to share it with students. Teaching history is the tool I can use to do the important thing: minister to young people here.”
