Maranatha’s campus encompasses 79 acres overlooking the community of Watertown, Wisconsin. Since the initial purchase of grounds and buildings in 1968, the university has added a gymnasium, library, preschool, science lab, and dining complex.  As well as new residence halls, athletic fields, modular classrooms, and additional land. All buildings are within easy walking distance for students, and shuttle service is provided for female dorm students during inclement weather. Read about Maranatha’s facilities below.

Old Main

Old Main is the campus’s iconic building, was purchased from the Brothers of the Holy Cross in 1968. Built in four stages over 21 years beginning in 1873, the four-story brick building has dominated the campus since Maranatha’s early years. Today, Old Main houses offices, classrooms, a student center, a post office, a bookstore, two performing arts halls, and Maranatha Baptist Academy. Its chic coffee shop, Old Main Café, provides comfortable seating and lots of great beverages choices.

Dining Complex

Completed in 2005, the Dining Complex is the most visible new building on campus. It includes seven classrooms (all with full video equipment), two computer labs, a 145-seat lecture hall, and a faculty workroom. DC also provides a nursing lab classroom and lab suite. It is home to Hal, the medical simulator mannequin that can replicate hospital scenarios. The main dining hall takes up the majority of DC’s ground level. It seats 400 people, and its high ceiling gives the room an open, friendly feel. The dining hall features large windows that let in natural light and offer a spacious view overlooking the football and soccer fields.

Cedarholm Library

The Cedarholm Library houses more than 124,000 books and periodicals and offers a media center with instructional material curricula. Named after the college’s founders, the Library offers one computer classroom and two computer labs as well as several specialized computers capable of accessing music, nursing, or Bible databases. The library provides access to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog). It also houses the personal library collection of the late Dr. Richard Weeks, which includes many rare Baptist history books.

Maranatha Gym

The Maranatha gymnasium was completed in 1974. This building is in constant use-from 6 a.m. for Academy sports practice until midnight for stage crew construction. Seating is torn down and set up daily, making Maranatha possibly the only school in the country employing a chair arranging crew. It has been the scene of hundreds of spiritual decisions, sit-ups, free throws, and dramatic moments.

Hanneman Hall

This science building completed in 2004, contains a classroom, four labs, faculty offices, and a prep room where students’ projects are stored. Students perform experiments and dissections in the three chemistry labs, while nursing students practice working with patients in the nursing lab.
