Watertown (population 25,000) provides a safe environment for families while being large enough to have national chain stores and restaurants found in most midsize communities. The Johnson Creek Outlet Mall is about 10 minutes from campus.
Located strategically near Interstate 94, Watertown offers easy access to Milwaukee to the east and Madison to the west. Both are about an hour’s drive from Watertown.
Milwaukee is home to such attractions as the Pettit National Ice Center (an Olympic training facility with a public ice rink), the Marcus Center for Performing Arts, Milwaukee Brewers baseball, the Milwaukee County Zoo, and the Bradley Center.
Madison, the Wisconsin state capitol, offers the Olbrich Botanical Gardens, the University of Wisconsin campus, State Street (a pedestrian district near the university featuring shopping and eateries), the Henry Vilas Zoo (free), and performing arts venues. Both Madison and Milwaukee have airports.
