Resident Classes

The majority of the seminary classes are offered in the traditional, residential model. You will be in a classroom at a specific time on specific days, interacting with fellow students and with the professor. The traditional classes are sixteen weeks in length, and all course work is done by the end of the last week of class. Almost all of these traditional classes are live-streamed for our virtual students.

Campus Modules

Can’t be on campus for an entire semester, but still want to take a course on campus? Consider taking a course in module format. Our modules begin on Monday, usually in the afternoon, and conclude Friday afternoon. Module courses are only offered occasionally.

Virtual Classes

Join a module or semester-long residential course from home via the Internet in real-time. Since you are joining a live class, you will need to be logged in at specific times on specific days to complete these courses (some recording and playback options are available if you a miss an occasional class). Regular attendance in virtual classes is required.

Online

Many of the courses required for the MA and MDiv programs may be taken online. You do not usually need to be online at a specific time of the day to complete online courses. The online courses are usually eight weeks in length, but still provide a full semester’s worth of material, so they are intense. You also have an additional four weeks to finish up reading and writing assignments.

Educated to Joyfully Serve!

At Maranatha Baptist Seminary, I learned to constantly strive to rightly divide the Word of Truth. I was tutored to become a critical thinker, and yet remain dependent on God’s Spirit as my tutor. I was educated to joyfully serve Christ’s church and seek a life of purity and devotion to Him. I am taking all these wonderful experiences into the classrooms and the pulpits in my homeland. God is doing marvelous things at Maranatha!

Professors Encouraged us to Think!

The time we spent at Maranatha was one of the most valuable times of our lives. Not only did we receive excellent instruction and great resources, but our professors encouraged us to think through issues. We built friendships with many of our teachers and could reach out to any of them today, confident they would take time to respond. There’s a passion both for ministry and excellent theological training at Maranatha.

No Better Way to Prepare for Great Commission Living

Seminary training at Maranatha empowered me to think biblically, write succinctly, speak persuasively, and live sincerely. In my experience, there is not better way to prepare for impacting the world through informed Great Commission living than attending Maranatha Baptist Seminary.

Engaging Classes

My time at MBS was beneficial to my current ministry on multiple levels. The classes were engaging not only through the material discussed, but also through the opportunities to discuss many different topics with men and women in many different areas of ministry. The greatest benefit that I found with MBS was the opportunity to continue ministering both at the school and in my local church while working on my degree. Both the classes and the practical experience in leadership allowed me to transition smoothly into my current ministry.

The style of the MBS classes also made it simple to fit in schoolwork with other responsibilities of life. I never felt like my classes were controlling my time beyond what was reasonable. This was mainly a credit to the attitude of the professors, who were always willing to work with potential ministry conflicts.
